Nanoparticles adhesion/cohesion

Adhesion of nanoparticles to substrate and intra-particles cohesion is a fundamental research topic, when approaching industrial applications of nano-materials. Many important particles properties such as dispersion behavior, agglomeration, mechanical and thermical stability of deposited layers are strongly correlated to the forces existing between all materials commonly new as Van der Waals forces. Studying the influence of nanoparticles and layers morphology to their adhesion/cohesion behavior is a fundamental step in nanoparticles design toward higher level of material functionalization.
